Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life provides opportunities for Jewish students at more than 500 colleges and universities to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity through its global network of regional centers, campus Foundations and Hillel student organizations.
For the last eight years, Hillel has been inspiring socially responsible young Jews through Alternative Breaks, providing Jewish college students with intensive, immersion experiences that involve hands-on service, community interaction, and unique opportunities to strengthen and explore their Jewish identities and commitment to social responsibility. In the last four years alone, over 8,000 Jewish college students have participated in alternative break volunteer programs, performing direct services for communities in need throughout the world, including the Gulf Coast where Hillel coordinates the only national Jewish volunteer effort. |
